Fraction Jackson is the best friend and faithful companion to one of
America's greatest bakers, Mr. Floyd R. "Puffy" Pastry. Puffy adopted
Fraction early on in his career. He needed a guard dog to protect the
bakery, so he went down to the city pound. He was looking for a big dog,
a dog that would intimidate potential robbers, but when he saw the little
guy they called Jackson, he knew he had to have him. Puffy adopted the
puppy on the spot.
From then on, whenever Puffy needed to test out a new recipe, there was the
new puppy, waiting by the oven with his tail wagging. If Jackson approved,
he would bark and beg for another piece. Puffy would say, "You know you only
get a fraction, Mr. Jackson". After a while, Puffy just took to calling him Fraction Jackson.
Not too much later, Puffy bought an alarm system for the bakery so Fraction
could come home with him at night and play with his kids.
