Pianomus Platypus grew up in Tasmania loving music. Her given name is
Wilhelmina, but all her friends took to calling her Pianomus because of
her considerable talent tickling the ivories. The first piano teacher
Pianomus studied under thought she would never be a great piano player.
"It's nothing personal, I assure you", he explained, "but I have never
met anyone who could play with webbed fingers." Nonetheless, Pianomus
persevered. She lacked range, due to the webbing. So she studied music
relentlessly, and eventually could name any note whether it was written
on paper, shown to her on the keyboard, or just simply played. Her
determination has made her a wonderful piano player, and shows the wisdom
of looking for life's opportunities rather than life's obstacles.
